The Mount Pleasant Fire Department Adopt-a-Truck program is a program involving local elementary schools. Each apparatus is assigned to an elementary school.

During the week, the unit goes to its "adopted" school and spends time with the children. During this visit, the firefighters teach kids about fire safety, smoke detectors, and familiarize them to what a firefighter looks and sounds like when dressed in full gear and air pack. During some visits the firefighters listen to the children read stories.
