Town receives large donation from Booster Board of Mount Pleasant Soccer Club
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (November 24, 2009) - The Booster Board of Mount Pleasant Soccer Club donated $20,000 to the Town of Mount Pleasant to be used at the newly constructed shelter/restroom and concession stand at the Cheryl Woods-Flowers Soccer Complex, Patriots Point Boulevard. These funds were obtained through fundraising by the Mount Pleasant Soccer Booster Club and complimented the $300,000 the Town spent on the project.
“The Town of Mount Pleasant has over 2,500 soccer players (from Micro to adult) who utilize the soccer fields and the shelters at these fields – and the CW-F Soccer complex has the most fields at that location,” said Mayor Billy Swails. “The generous donation of the Booster Board of Mount Pleasant Soccer Club represents the first time that such a sizable donation was made by an athletic club in our town’s history. We are grateful for such a commitment to the youth of our community and to the outstanding sport of soccer.”
