ROUTINE FIRE INSPECTIONS
Fire inspections are conducted on all commercial businesses twice a year for code compliance, however, you may request a courtesy inspection at any time throughout the year.
The town enforces by ordinance the 2005 Edition of the International Codes.

CONSTRUCTION PLAN REVIEW AND FIELD INSPECTIONS
The Town of Mount Pleasant Fire Department completes a plan review of all commercial projects within the town.
This includes all of the following types of plans:
- New construction
- Upfit into existing spaces
- Fire protection systems (sprinkler and standpipe systems, commercial and residential)
- Alarm plans
- Site development
- Tank storage
The Plan review process usually takes 10-14 working days to complete. Once completed, the plans are turned over to building department for issuance of any pertinent permits.

NEW CONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONS
The Town of Mount Pleasant Fire Department completes inspections through the construction of all projects in the town, much the same as the building department does (above ceiling, fire walls, alarm systems, and fire protection systems). This includes inspections for but not limited to the following:
- New construction
- Upfit into existing spaces
- Sprinkler and standpipes, commercial and residential
- Alarm plans
- Site development
- Tank storage
If you have questions regarding the need for an inspection, please contact the Fire Marshal/Deputy Fire Marshal for the district in question.
Inspections are completed by Deputy Fire Marshals in their respective districts.
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all inspections.
